Photography & Me

I have been photographing for years, mostly of completed frame designs and details of the pieces. In the last few years I started taking photos of faces in natural light and relaxed settings.
In May 2013, I had the opportunity to take a Photographic Tour of Tuscany with Jim & Magrit Nilsen. I learned so much about myself, my photography and how to use my camera in a more thoughtful way. The trip was an amazing chance to learn and share about photography with a small group of dedicated photographers, amateur and professional
May 2015, The stars aligned and I got to travel again to Tuscany with Jim and Magrit Nilsen...with the added bonus of 4 days in Venice. The weather was much different, drier and hotter, still beautiful, but more challenging to take photos. While in Venice we visited the Island of Burano (not The Glass Island of Murano) which is known for it's lace and colorfully painted buildings. Amazing trip and I plan to make it back.
August 2015 I submitted "Sunlite Lavender" to the Oregon Lavender Photography Contest and was thrilled to be selected as the third place winner.

Taking great photographs has become a passion that needs filling. Venturing into this very crowded world may be tricky and challenging, BUT, if I don't try I will always regret it.
Needless to say, part of the pleasure is sharing them.

April & May 2017-ARTwalk show at Honest Chocolates featuring macro & travel
October 2016-ARTwalk show at Artisanal Wine Cellars of some of my floral/macro pieces. My photos were well received and several pieces were purchased.
I created a card line in cooperation with the Soroptimist INternational Chehalem Valley Club. who receive 100% of profits after expenses. You can find a rack of my cards at the Chehalem Valley Chamber office. The SI club will also be at the Lavender Festival the second weekend in July, For more information of the Soroptimist International of Chehalem Valley, please check out my Favorites.
In December 2015 I was the featured artist at Cusick Picture Frame for the Newberg ARTwalk. I was also accepted to Currents Galley for their "Portals" show February, 2016.
